Army of Thieves age rating: Is the Netflix movie okay for kids?

Army of Thieves premieres on Netflix on Oct. 29, and it’s going to be one action-packed film! It’s a bunch of thieves carrying on a heist, so there most likely will be multiple fight sequences and maybe even some chase scenes that’ll have us on the edge of our seats. We’re excited about this Netflix film and can’t wait to see it.

If you know absolutely nothing about this upcoming film, we’ve got you covered. Army of Thieves is about a group of aspiring thieves who attempt to pull off heists all across Europe. The movie centers around Ludwig Dieter, a bank teller, who is approached by a mysterious woman who recruits him to her team of Interpol’s most wanted criminals.

Army of Thieves is a prequel to the other Netflix film, Army of the Dead. Army of Thieves takes place six years before the events of Army of the Dead. There’s only one character from the first film in the prequel, and that’s Ludwig, portrayed by Matthias Schweighöfer. The rest of the cast is full of fresh faces.

If you enjoyed watching Army of the Dead, you’re going to want to see the prequel. There might not be as many zombies, seeing as though this film focuses mainly on the heist and takes place when the zombie uprising was in the beginning stages, but it’ll have your heart thumping because of the many action sequences.

Now that we’ve persuaded you enough to watch the heist film, you’re probably wondering when is the best time to watch it. In other words, can you watch this film when kids are around?

The heist film is rated TV-MA. According to the maturity ratings and classifications on Netflix, TV-MA means that the movie is for mature audiences. Therefore, this film may not be suitable for ages 17 and under. We think this age rating is appropriate for this movie because there will be a lot of violence, weapons, coarse language, blood, and possibly sexual content.

So, when you decide to watch Army of Thieves, make sure the kids are asleep or preoccupied with something else. There are so many kid movies and shows on Netflix that you could put on for your kids, such as Maya and the Three, Vivo, Cocomelon and The Baby-Sitters Club.
