Locke and Key season 2 is now available to stream in full on Netflix. Want to visit the filming locations? Where exactly was it filmed?

When it comes to favorite shows, there’s no doubt that you want to visit the locations. Maybe you want to see Key House in its full glory, or maybe you want to explore the caves that the teens head down to.

It means figuring out where the Locke and Key season 2 filming locations are. Where do you need to travel, and are you likely to get to the locations, or are they on private ground?

Locke and Key season 2 filming locations

Most of the second season was filming in and around Toronto, Canada. You can’t visit Key House; at least, not the inside of it. The set was constructed at Cinespace Film Studios in Toronto, which is where many of the internal scenes are filmed. Filming in the studios makes it much easier to get through shots since the natural light isn’t something to contend with.

Some of the scenes were filmed on private land in cities and towns close to Toronto. Some of these include Etobicoke, Hamilton, and Cambridge. Humber College Lakeshore Campus in Etobicoke is used for the fictional Matheson college, according to IMDb.

The exterior shots were filmed in other parts of Canada. The cast and crew headed over to Nova Scotia, specifically to Lunenburg. You can find the Drowning Cave and some other external locations here, including many of the street scenes.

The locations were also used for Locke and Key season 3, which finished filming back in September 2021. Should a fourth season happen, we’ll see filming head back there again. I’ll be sure to keep an eye out on filming as I’m in the local area.
