Halloween is almost here and Netflix has oodles of choices for this season for Halloween fun, especially if you’re looking for movies for the whole family. Monster House is streaming on Netflix, and it’s a great choice for everyone!

Monster House is on the list of the best Halloween movies on Netflix right now.

I have to admit this is one I watch yearly because it is such a great animated Halloween-themed movie. It does have some fun scares, although not too many to overshadow the fun.

Is Monster House okay for kids?

Monster House age rating

The movie is rated PG because Monster House does contain some scary moments. Some younger children might find some moments quite scary while older kids should have no problems watching this one.

In the movie, there is a mean old man who is violent at times. The house also comes alive and tries to eat the children. We also see trees come alive and grab the children.

Monster House is Gil Kenan’s directorial debut and is Sony’s first computer-animated film produced by Sony Pictures Imageworks.

For those unfamiliar with Monster House, the story follows a group of three kids, DJ, Chowder and Jenny, who try to convince the adults that the spooky old house across the street is trying to attack them. None of the adults believe them as the house is inactive when the adults are present. With Halloween quickly approaching, they must figure out how to destroy the house before the children who trick or treat in the neighborhood are taken and eaten by the house.

The movie was nominated for many awards and features the voice talents of Mitchell Musso, Steve Buscemi, Nick Cannon, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Kevin James, Jason Lee, Catherine O’Hara, Kathleen Turner and Fred Willard.

So, enjoy Monster House this Halloween season on Netflix.
