When is Squid Game season 2 coming out?

After watching the Netflix original hit South Korean survival drama reigning supreme at the top of the charts, many subscribers are wondering when Squid Game season 2 will be available to enjoy on the streamer.

Whether it’s the high stakes children’s games full of jaw-dropping moments or the edge-of-your-seat thrills the well-crafted show offers every entry, there is no denying that Squid Game is an absolute hit for the streamer, maintaining its position at number one on the platform’s Top Ten, effectively taking the world by storm. The CEO of Netflix recently commented that he believed the series could be the streamer’s biggest ever, even possibly surpassing the Emmy-nominated period drama Bridgerton.

In addition, Squid Game is the first Korean drama to top Netflix’s weekly charts globally, solidifying its dominance on the platform and, in the process, justifying a strong desire from fans to have the exhilarating tale continue with a follow-up season.

The final moments of the Squid Game‘s initial outing leave things open for a fantastic follow-up to take place, and it would be a shame not to see what another chapter would look like. Given all the hype surrounding the incredibly well-received Netflix series, it seems accurate to presume that the scorching anticipation for a season 2 is undeniably at an all-time high.

When is Squid Game season 2 on Netflix?

Unfortunately, the series has yet to get the renewal treatment from Netflix. But it’s still early, and there is plenty of time for Netflix to order more episodes, and it will be very fascinating to see how the show’s future plays out.

It is also important to note that Hwang Dong-hyuk, the writer and director of the series, has no immediate plans to do another outing. There’s a chance we could see Squid Game season 2 by the end of 2022, but things would have to move quickly.
