Manifest season 4: What you need to know
By Reed Gaudens
After being saved from cancellation by Netflix, Manifest season 4 is coming to the streaming service soon as the final run of the fan-favorite, history-making series.
As the cast and crew get back to work at crafting the perfect ending for the Manifesters, we’re learning more and more about Manifest season 4 every day.
Even though there’s still a fair bit of waiting to do before the Flight 828 passengers make their debut as a Netflix original series, we’re hanging onto every detail we can.
We shared everything you need to know about Manifest season 4, including the release date updates, full cast list, spoiler information and so much more.
Manifest season 4 is coming to Netflix in 2022
Although an official release date timeframe has not been confirmed by Netflix, it’s expected that the final season of Manifest will start streaming sometime in 2022. Currently, it’s looking like the season could fly in for a late 2022 release on the streamer.
However, since the 20-episode season will likely be split into at least two parts, the first half will bow in 2022, while the next batch will surely release in 2023. As we learn more information about when and how Manifest season 4 will be released, we’ll let you know.
Is Manifest season 4 being filmed?
As of late September 2021, filming has not yet commenced on Manifest season 4. When Netflix saved the series, creator Jeff Rake expressed his desire to start production on the new season by the end of 2021, in either November or December.
Right now, the Manifest writers have reassembled to put the pieces of the endgame together for the final season. The cast will definitely announce the start of production on their social media, so make sure to keep an eye out, and we’ll keep you updated, too.
Manifest season 4 cast list
Thankfully, the state of limbo that Manifest experienced with its cast between cancellation by NBC and pickup by Netflix quickly ended. Here’s who’s in the main cast for season 4:
- Melissa Roxburgh as Michaela Stone
- Josh Dallas as Ben Stone
- J. R. Ramirez as Jared Vasquez
- Luna Blaise as Olive Stone
- Parveen Kaur as Saanvi Bahl
- Holly Taylor as Angelina Meyer
- Daryl Edwards as Robert Vance
Cal Stone will now be played by Ty Doran following the season 3 finale twist, which means Jack Messina will no longer be a series regular. Athena Karkanis will also be leaving the show.
How many Manifest season 4 episodes will Matt Long be in?
Considering the above list, you’re probably wondering why Matt Long isn’t included in his role as Zeke Landon. Since Long became attached to an NBC pilot after Manifest’s cancellation, he will appear in as many episodes of season 4 as he’s available for. It’s unclear whether he will still be credited as a series regular or if he will now be recurring.
Is Grace dead in Manifest season 4?
Here’s where the spoiler warning comes into play. Although fans were holding out hope that Grace wouldn’t actually be dead after Angelina allegedly stabbed her to death, Karkanis’ departure from the series seems to seal Grace’s fate.
We’ll have to wait and see what happens next in the story, but it currently appears as though Grace will no longer be part of the team in season 4. Of course, we’re keeping our fingers crossed for Karkanis to make some appearances in flashbacks.
Is Manifest season 4 the final season?
If you’re wondering if Manifest season 5 will also arrive, Netflix announced that season 4 will be the final season of the series. Yes, the streamer has walked back on past final season decision before in the past, like with Lucifer, but we’ll have to take their word for it on Manifest.
As much as we would have loved to see Rake’s six-season vision come to fruition, these 20 episodes will be the perfect run to wrap up the ever turbulent story of Flight 828. If there happens to be more, great! If not, we saw the end coming with this second chance from the start.
