Bridgerton season 2 is coming to Netflix soon! Netflix just revealed the Bridgerton season 2 release date on Christmas 2021.

As we get closer to the release date of the new season, we’re finding out all sorts of other juicy goss about Bridgerton season 2.

We shared everything you need to know about Bridgerton season 2, including the release date updates, full cast, book information, and so much more.

Bridgerton season 2 release date

One year after Bridgerton premiered on Netflix, the streaming network revealed the release date for the new season of the Netflix original series.

Bridgerton season 2 is coming to Netflix on March 25, 2022.

Netflix announced the news via a release date video featuring some of your favorite cast members.

What book is Bridgerton season 2 based on?

Bridgerton is, of course, based on the book series written by Julia Quinn. The first season of the Netflix original series was based on the first book, The Duke and I.

Bridgerton season 2 is based on The Viscount Who Loved Me, which is the second book in the series.

Bridgerton season 2 follows Anthony Bridgerton and Kate Sharma

While the first book and season followed the love story of Daphne Bridgerton (Phoebe Dynevor) and the Duke of Hastings, Simon Bassett (Regé-Jean Page), Bridgerton season 2 follows Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey) and his quest to find love.

We already know who Anthony will have his sights set on in the new season, and that will be Kate Sharma (Simone Ashley), a new character in the new season. Sounds romantic, doesn’t it?

At TUDUM, Netflix shared the first look at Bridgerton season 2 featuring Kate and Anthony. Enjoy!

Who is Kate Sharma in Bridgerton season 2?

As mentioned above, Simone Ashley, who stars in Sex Education, has joined the cast of Bridgerton for season 2. She will be the love interest of Anthony Bridgerton, who struggled with love in the first season. It doesn’t look like things get off to a great start in the new season, either!

Netflix shared the character description for Kate Sharma way back in February 2021.

You’ll also get to meet Kate’s mom, Mary (Shelley Conn), and her sister, Edwina (Charithra Chandran), in the new season. We’ll also get to meet the rest of Kate’s fam, most likely, but they have not been confirmed yet.

Will Lady Whistledown be in Bridgerton season 2?

Spoilers ahead!

In the first season, it was revealed that Penelope (Nicola Coughlan) was Lady Whistledown. Is this actually true? Are there multiple Lady Whistledowns?

Penelope is definitely in Bridgerton season 2. You don’t have to worry about that at all.

We’ll have more updates on the Lady when we get closer to the release date of the new season.

Recently, though, Page said that he wouldn’t say whether he would be in the season or not in a recent interview with British GQ. That led to speculation that Page will, indeed, make an appearance in Bridgerton season 2.

It will be interesting to see if that happens. Stay tuned!
