Dear Evan Hansen is one of the most highly anticipated new movies of 2021. Fans all over the world are trying to figure out where to watch the new movie starring Ben Platt.

Dear Evan Hansen premiered in theaters on Friday, Sept. 24. In addition to Platt, the movie also stars Kaitlyn Dever, Amandla Stenberg, Nik Dodani, Colton Ryan, Danny Pino, Julianne Moore, and Amy Adams.

The movie is based on the musical of the same name from Steven Levenson, Benj Pasek, and Justin Paul. Platt also starred as Evan Hansen in the musical.

As it happens with all new movies, viewers are wondering if Dear Evan Hansen is available to stream on Netflix.

Is Dear Evan Hansen on Netflix?

Dear Evan Hansen is not available to stream on Netflix right now. The movie is produced by Universal Pictures and is not a Netflix original production.

Netflix could add Dear Evan Hansen in the future, but it’s going to move to another streaming service (or two!) before that’s even possible.

Where to watch Dear Evan Hansen

Dear Evan Hansen is only available in theaters right now. No streaming service has released the movie yet, but we’re hoping that will change soon.

Unfortunately, we’re probably in for quite the wait before Dear Evan Hansen is available to stream. Universal has an output deal with HBO right now, which will be Dear Evan Hansen to HBO and HBO Max after its theatrical run. That probably won’t happen for a while.

If Dear Evan Hansen was produced and distributed by Warner Bros., we likely would have seen the movie released on HBO Max on the same day it premiered in theaters. Obviously, that’s not going to happen.
