Is Edward Scissorhands on Netflix for Halloween 2021?

One question viewers have is, does Netflix have their favorite movie available to stream? One of those favorites for the Halloween season is Edward Scissorhands. 

This Tim Burton film is based on a short story written by Burton and writer Caroline Thompson. Burton developed the story from his upbringing in Burbank, California, and the inventor role was explicitly designed for Vincent Price and would be his last significant role.

After Fox declined the film, it was developed by 20th Century Fox, and after the success of Burton’s Batman, the film was fast-tracked. This film marks the fourth collaboration between composer Danny Elfman and Burton.

The film is a touching story of a humanoid, Edward, who was an unfinished creation. His creator gave him temporary scissors for his hands and died of a heart attack before finishing his creation.

Years later, an Avon saleswoman discovers Edward living alone in the Gothic mansion and takes him home to live with her and her family. Unfortunately, Edward is met with ridicule as people who look different sometimes do, causing many problems for Edward and his host family.

The film stars Johnny Depp as Edward as well as Winona Ryder, Dianne Wiest, Anthony Michael Hall, Kathy Baker, Vincent Price and Alan Arkin.
