Is Y: The Last Man on Netflix? Where to watch the show online
By Sabrina Reed
Y: The Last Man premiered Monday, Sept. 13. The 10 episode series, based on the DC comics by Brian K. Vaughn and Pia Guerra, imagines a world where a mysterious event wipes out any mammal with a Y chromosome with exception to one cisgender man and his monkey.
The drama is set in a post-apocalyptic world with the characters dealing with their grief over the loved ones they lost and searching for answers for why this happened. However, mourning and a quest for the truth aren’t the only narratives at the heart of this story. So is power.
With many of the world’s leaders gone, there’s an opportunity to change how things are done around the globe but especially close to home for those looking to build a better and more fair society for themselves and others.
With that reality though comes a struggle for what to do next, whose ideas should be championed over others, and how should this new world not only be navigated but also restructured.
Y: The Last Man is a thought provoking series that examines the role gender plays in society at large as well as providing plenty of action and close calls for the characters. Here’s where to watch the show online!
