The Starling releases on Netflix on Friday, September 24, 2021, and we know that we’re going to have a good laugh when this film drops because it stars comedian Melissa McCarthy. We also know that we’re going to have a good cry because it’s a drama.

There are new Netflix movies and shows coming this month, so make sure you set a reminder on Netflix for The Starling. Also, on the day of The Starling‘s release, highly anticipated Netflix originals are dropping, such as Blood and Water season 2 and Midnight Mass season 1.

However, we still expect this comedy-drama film to rank on Netflix top 10 list when it premieres on Netflix because, based on the synopsis and trailer, it looks like it will be a heartfelt feel-good film that will be stuck on your mind for days.

The Netflix film is directed by Hidden Figures’  Theodore Melfi and written by Matt Harris. Besides McCarthy, the film stars Chris O’Dowd, Kevin Kline, Timothy Olyphant, Daveed Diggs, Skyler Gisondo, Laura Harrier and Loretta Devine.

So what is the comedy-drama movie about? We’re about to tell you what this upcoming Netflix movie is about down below.

The Starling synopsis

The Starling synopsis is provided below:

"A woman adjusting to life after a loss contends with a feisty bird that’s taken over her garden- and a husband who’s struggling to find a way forward."

Melissa fighting a bird is definitely a sight to see, but seeing her emotional is going to be new for viewers. This film will touch on topics that many people have gone through, and some scenes may be hard to watch, but we encourage everyone to watch The Starling when it comes to Netflix on Sept. 24.

Just make sure you have your tissues ready because your emotions will be all over the place when watching this drama film.
