Best shows on Netflix

Lucifer

Lucifer season 6 premiered on Netflix on Friday, Sept. 10. Unfortunately, this is the final season of the popular Netflix original series.

There are only 10 episodes left. If you’re not watching Lucifer season 6, you should be!

The Circle

The Circle is a reality competition series based around social media with the concept that “anyone can be anyone in The Circle.”  It has been compared to other reality series like Big Brother, Catfish and The Real World.

Competitors can only communicate via a social media/messaging app, called The Circle, and it is a game of strategy and manipulation where the objective is to become popular within the community. The contestants flirt, friend, tick off and compete in challenges to earn the prize as the top influencer.  With a cash prize of $100,000, who can blame them?

Michelle Buteau returned as host in season 3, which premiered this week. There are eight new contestants in the 4 part season that has new episodes airing each Wednesday.

The Circle was renewed for seasons 4 and 5. You’d better check this one out.

On the Verge

The Netflix original series takes a look at how women handle a midlife crisis. On the Verge is a series created, written and directed by Julie Delpy, who also stars.

These women are living “on the verge,” and this series looks into the unique way of how they handle the changes that inevitably come with life.

The series stars Julie Delpy, Elisabeth Shue, Sarah Jones, Alexia Landeau, Mathieu Demy, Troy Garity, Timm Sharp and Giovanni Ribisi.

Sharkdog

A new CG-animated Netflix original Sharkdog was recently released. Singaporean artist Jacinth Tan created this series.

The series is about Max and his best friend, Sharkdog, who is simply a half-shark, half-dog. It is a faced paced adventure series. Sharkdog gets into many messes, which Max and his human friend must clean up to keep his assistance a secret.

Starring Liam Mitchell as Max, Dee Bradley Baker as Sharkdog, Kari Wahlgren as Mia, Dennis, Aly Mawji as Royce, Judy Alice Lee as Olivia and Meaghan Davies as Annabelle.

Sex Education

Sex Education will release its third season on Sept.17. That gives you time to binge the first two seasons before that.

The series is set in the fictional Moordale Secondary School, where students, staff and parents deal with their personal lives and the problems that arise, many of which stem from sexual intimacy.

Gentefied

Fans of the American Ferrera-produced Latinx dramedy Gentefied are thrilled with the news that season 2 will be released on Netflix on Nov. 10, 2021.

In the series, three cousins join forces to ensure their grandfather’s legacy of his taco shop remains open.

The series stars Karrie Martin, Joseph Julian Soria, Carlos Santos and Joaquín Cosio.
