Among the many new characters introduced in Lucifer season 6 is Adam. Yes, the Adam. And let’s just say he is not what we were expecting Adam to look like! Here’s why Lucifer missed the mark with this character.

Please note there are spoilers ahead if you are not caught up on Lucifer season 6. Please finish watching the final season before reading on.

In Lucifer season 6, episode 7, “My Best Fiend’s Wedding,” Maze and Eve are discussing inviting Maze’s family. Maze doesn’t want them there, but Eve believes it’s important that they attend.

Now, it’s no secret that Maze and Eve’s journey to happiness has been a rough one. They each had their own issues to work on before they could be together, and Maze is still working on a few things. But their conversation is rudely interrupted by the one and only Adam.

Our first impression? Well, Maze says it best, “guess God had to start somewhere.”

Lucifer season 6 misses the mark with Adam

Eve stares in shock as she and Maze watch Adam enter Lux. What were we expecting Adam to look like? Definitely not average built, blonde and scruffy.

It doesn’t help that Adam descends the stairs in slow motion with the wind blowing in his hair to the song “I Just Died in Your Arms” by Cutting Crew. It’s just not doing him any favors.

We’re talking about Adam! The first man. Are we shallow for hoping that Adam would be breathtakingly beautiful to match the gorgeous Eve (Inbar Lavi)? Maybe so! But with how much Lucifer champions diversity, we were also expecting a person of color.

I suppose the role of tall and handsome can only be taken by the Devil himself, Lucifer Morningstar, and we’re okay with that. And “tall, dark and handsome” is Amenadiel. So, on the bright side, Lucifer and Amenadiel continue to be the best looking guys in the series and we are here for it.

Lucifer season 6 is now streaming on Netflix.
