Does Lucifer become God in Lucifer season 6?
By Cody Schultz
When we last left Lucifer in the season 5 finale, it was the showdown of the century as Lucifer and Michael faced off in a head-to-head battle for the title to settle the battle for the throne of Heaven.
This being Michael we’re talking about, he of course couldn’t fight fairly and shockingly killed Chloe knowing that the only way Lucifer would be able to save her would be by going to Heaven… which would kill him in the process. Despite the threat going to Heaven posed to his life, Lucifer did not hesitate and flew up to Heaven to save Chloe.
After finally confessing his love for her in the Golden City and helping to save her life, Chloe returns to Earth and is about to kill Michael when Lucifer showed up to stop her. Taking his survival as a sign that he was meant to ascend to the throne, the season ends with Lucifer’s angel brethren kneeling before him and him uttering the line, “Oh, my me.”
It was an ending that seemed to suggest Lucifer had earned the title of God but does Lucifer ascend to the throne of Heaven in Lucifer season 6?

Final spoiler warning!
Who becomes God in Lucifer season 6?
As Lucifer season 6 begins, the prospect of becoming God is weighing heavily upon Lucifer who seems to be procrastinating his descent to the throne of Heaven after defeating Michael. While it looked as though Lucifer would follow through with becoming God, fate had a different plan in store.
Across the final season, we see Lucifer struggling with the idea of becoming God and, in the end, he decides not to become God after all. Instead, Lucifer returns to Hell where he looks to become Hell’s healer in order to help the lost souls in the realm overcome the demons of their time on Earth in order to make it to Heaven.
With Lucifer becoming Hell’s healer, it is Amenadiel who ascends to the throne and becomes God in the Lucifer series finale. That’s right, after withdrawing his interest in the role in season 5, Amenadiel ends up emerging as God in the series finale.
Lucifer season 6 is streaming now on Netflix.
