Lucifer season 6 has finally arrived on Netflix, premiering on Friday, Sept. 10 with a fresh batch of episodes featuring everyone’s favorite devil. The new season follows up the second half of the fifth season, which completed its run earlier this year in May.

Of course, season 6 picks up where the previous season left off and continues to trace the ever complicated journey of Lucifer potentially becoming the new God. But that barely scratches the surface of the wild moments the sixth season serves up.

The release of season 6 is the day many Lucifer fans have been waiting for, or perhaps the day they have been dreading, because as exciting as new release days are, they are always one step closer to being the last release day ever for your favorite Netflix show.

Is this the last new release day ever for Lucifer, or will there be another season of the fan-favorite hit Netflix original series? Here’s everything to know about the future of the series, including whether it’s been officially canceled or renewed for season 7.

Is Lucifer season 6 the last season?

In case you hadn’t gotten the memo ahead of the sixth season’s release, it’s the final season of the series. However, Lucifer wasn’t technically canceled since that implies the rug had been swept out from under them. The ending was planned in order to give the series a fitting sendoff.

Unfortunately, Lucifer season 7 isn’t in the cards as season 6 has been crafted as the end of the series. There won’t be another season of the beloved show, but don’t get angry with Netflix or the creative team because this wasn’t an out-of-the-blue decision.

Whether you loved the ending or wish the series had come to a close differently, there won’t be another season to follow season 6. Of course, in the golden age of no show really ever being dead, the chances of a future comeback are currently low, but they’re never zero.

Right now, the complete series is available to stream on Netflix. Did you like the ending, or do you want more Lucifer? Share your thoughts in the comments!
