Does Dan get to say goodbye to Trixie in Lucifer season 6?
By Sandy C.
Did Lucifer season 6 bring fans closure when it comes to Dan Espinoza (Kevin Alejandro)? Does Dan get to say goodbye to his daughter Trixie before moving on? Spoilers ahead!
Dan‘s (Kevin Alejandro) death in Lucifer season 5 is one of the saddest moments in the entire series. Our hearts broke for Dan because he was truly a great man, father, and friend. But we also felt incredibly depressed for Trixie.
Fans could also see the pain in Lucifer’s face for his friend as he helplessly watched Trixie cry for her dad. Just remembering the moment gives me chills! And, to make matters worse, Dan didn’t go directly to Heaven.
Dan found himself stuck in purgatory, and later on Earth as a ghost, not knowing what he had to do to move on peacefully. Lucifer tried to help, but it would only work if Dan figures it out himself. Then, it hits him, Dan feels guilty about leaving Trixie behind and never being the father she deserves.
Dan and Trixie had us all crying in Lucifer season 6
Dan enters the body of the man who killed him by accident, but it worked out for the best. Because he’s dead, Trixie isn’t able to see her dad, but now, she could.
Dan goes to find Trixie at camp and the two share a sweet moment. We love how Trixie first beat Dan after shouting, “stranger danger!” Trixie has some sweet moves! Chloe Decker is her mother, after all.
After getting up, Dan tells Trixie that he is a friend of Maze and her dad, introducing himself as “Belios.” Trixie isn’t quick to trust “Belios” and asks him a round of questions only Dan’s true friends would know.
Finally, Dan is able to tell Trixie that Dan thought she was the best kid a dad could ask for and “the most loving daughter.” He lets Trixie know that Dan cared about her more than anything in the world and tells Trixie that Dan is so sorry for leaving her before he could be a good role model for her.
Trixie tells “Belios” that she’s extremely proud of her dad and that he’ll always be with her. And just like that, Dan sees the light! We’re glad we got to see this final moment between Dan and Trixie.
