The Great British Baking Show season 12 coming to Netflix in September 2021

Great news for fans of The Great British Baking Show. Variety has reported that the series will make its return to Netflix with season 12 in September.

The twelfth season almost didn’t happen due to the pandemic. Luckily, the crew at Love Productions got creative, rented out a hotel for most of its staff, and filmed for seven weeks to bring fans the show’s next season they love so well. That might not seem like such a big task, but it was a lot more involved. You can read about the whole process on Variety’s website.

As in seasons past, amateur bakers will be tested with weekly challenges as one contestant is eliminated each week. Judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith critique the creations, ensuring that only the best bakers make it on to the next round of challenges. And when the dust settles, they will choose the winner from those bakers who have what it takes to make it to the finals.

Noel Fielding and Matt Lucas will once again join forces as hosts for the series. Bringing fans more of the kitchen sketches and witty banter, using comedy to break up the tension that always accompanies a competition series.
