Warning: Spoilers for Netflix’s Clickbait are up ahead. Watch every episode of the original series right now only on Netflix!

Netflix’s Clickbait was simply a wild ride from start to finish. The series opened up with the kidnapping of Nick Brewer, a character who, at face value, seemed to be a loving husband, father, and son. However, as the story progressed, we began to see that this goody-two-shoes character was too good to be true.

His lies and numerous counts of infidelity began to be revealed as many women started to come forward claiming that he was in a committed relationship with them and was sometimes very toxic in his behavior. Naturally, his family didn’t believe this was the same guy that they lived with, so they took it into their own hands to clear his name before his hostage video reached 5 million views which would mean the end of his life. Several wild goose chases and dead ends later, Nick Brewer, unfortunately, was slain.

The somber status of Nick’s whereabouts was revealed in the second episode, leaving the audience with six episodes to figure out who exactly murdered Nick Brewer. However, if you would prefer to rip the band-aid right off and know who was responsible for killing this father of two, we’re here to fill you in on just who the unexpected culprit was revealed to be.

Who killed Nick Brewer in Clickbait?

Nick Brewer’s killer was revealed to be none other than his co-worker’s husband, Ed Gleed. Ed was shown to be immensely devoted to his wife, Dawn, willing to do anything to clean up the huge mess she made that got Nick in this mess in the first place. In order to preserve both his and his wife’s freedom that was threatened when Nick stated that he would turn Dawn in for impersonating him, Ed took a hammer and bloodied Nick’s head, leaving him to die on their kitchen floor.

Even though her husband was the one responsible for the murder, Dawn still had blood on her hands, however, it wasn’t just Nick’s.

Later in the series, it was revealed that Dawn used Nick’s photo and personal information (without his knowledge) to create fake dating profiles to engage in toxic virtual relationships with several women. One online relationship, in particular, turned sour after Dawn pushed a woman named Sarah Oxley to suicide after pretending to be a cold and cruel Nick.

Dawn was charged for her role, while Ed was killed in a standoff with police.

Prior to the reveal of Nick’s killers, audiences got to see who exactly it was that kidnapped the loving husband, and, spoiler, it was not Dawn and Ed but two other culprits, Simon and Daryl, who were close to Sarah Oxley, the woman who took her life because of Dawn.

Insistent on vengeance, the two kidnapped Nick, abused him, and had him hold up signs claiming that he abused women. It goes without saying that these two individuals were also the ones who told the world that Nick would die once the video of him as a hostage hit 5 million views, but, as you now know, they did not follow through on this promise being that Nick was able to prove to Simon that he was not responsible for his sister’s suicide, and Simon ultimately allowed Nick to escape– an escape that led him to the door of Dawn and Ed’s house.

Though you know who the murderers of Nick Brewer were, you are still in for an intense ride in this Netflix original series as many other perspectives were explored before the big reveal. Be sure to watch every episode of Clickbait streaming on Netflix to see how it all led up to this crazy finale.
