What is Kid Cosmic season 2 on Netflix about?

Kid Cosmic season 2 is coming to Netflix less than a year since the show’s premiere in February. Craig McCracken, the mind behind Powerpuff Girls, created this comic-book style animated show that easily captures the heart of anyone who watches.

The ten episodes of season one feature the voices of Jack Fisher as Kid, Tom Kenny as Chuck, Amanda Celine Miller as Jo, Keith Ferguson as Papa G, Lily Rose Silver as Rosa, and Fred Tatasciore as Tuna Sandwich. The full cast will be returning for season 2.

Kid is an energetic and imaginative young boy who lives in a sleepy desert town. If Kid isn’t reading comics, he’s creating his own stories where he stars as the hero.

When Kid finds five mysterious stones that grant incredible powers, he enlists the help of his grandpa Papa G, local diner worker Jo, untameable toddler Rosa, and fat cat Tuna Sandwich to become the Local Heroes.

Trouble starts when aliens come to Earth seeking the Cosmic Stones of Power, the first antagonist being Chuck. The Local Heroes hone their powers and gain confidence over the course of the series, ending in an epic finale that perfectly sets up the second season.

Kid Cosmic season 2 synopsis

The second season has been titled Kid Cosmic and the Intergalactic Truck Stop, reminiscent of comic issues where recurring characters continue their story in new places. Instead of Earth, the Local Heroes will be embarking on a mission through space to find the remaining Cosmic Stones of Power.

At the end of season 1, Kid and the Local Heroes think that their adventure is over. They saved the day and returned the stones to their rightful owners. However, in a last-minute twist, their alien friend returns with horrible news: Erodious “The Planet Killer” has become too powerful to stop alone. The heroes must collect 13(!!!) Cosmic Stones of Power to defeat him and save the galaxy!

Their alien friend uses the last of her power to relocate Mo’s Oasis Cafe into space as a home base for the Local Heroes to plan their next move.

Season 2 will focus on Jo, who has been officially picked as the leader. It’s up to her to guide Kid, Papa G, Rosa, Tuna Sandwich, and new ally Chuck to victory against their strongest foe yet.

As the first season did with Kid, season two will push Jo to her limits and will develop her character to new and improved heights. The thirteen Cosmic Stones of Power will provide more supernatural abilities that will aid in the defeat of Erodious, although the trailer shows it will be a rough ride.
