8 teen shows and movies coming to Netflix in September 2021

September is set to be a big month for Netflix in terms of content with both Lucifer season 6 and Money Heist season 5 volume 1 dropping. But as for teen shows and movies coming to the platform, it’s looking pretty light again.

The biggest teen title dropping this month is Sex Education season 3 which has been a highly anticipated release for the streamer as the show has found quite the audience in its run so far. Besides that Netflix original, teens can expect a couple of aughts classics and a few international titles.

Netflix is always good for a teen romcom and on tap for September is A Cinderella Story, the Hilary Duff and Chad Michael Murray movie that won hearts back in 2004.

There’s also a German romance with JJ + E, a tale about two star-crossed lovers from different worlds. As well as the second season of the Turkish drama, Love 101, which deals with the aftermath of the students putting their two teachers together. So, if you’re looking for a love fest, there’s plenty to enjoy.

Sex Education season 3 – September 17

Sex Education returns for its third season as the students navigate their new relationships under a new headteacher. Hope, now captain of Moordale’s ship, wants to see the school revitalized and rebranded into a pillar of excellence. It’ll be fun seeing her try considering how things have been going but the Moordale students have other things on their minds like feminism, being officially together, casual sex, a pregnancy, a voicemail that’s sure to come back up, and a crush or two to keep things spicy.

A Cinderella Story

In this modern Cinderella retelling, all Samantha Montgomery wants to do is get through high school and escape from her stepmother and stepsisters. She dreams of when school will be over, and she can head off to college to start a new life.

But that’s not the only bright spot in her life, she has an anonymous internet friend who she’s starting to fall for, and she’s hoping to meet him soon. Little does Samantha know that he’s closer than she thinks, in fact, she’s even spoken to him before. They simply run in different circles, the kind that could tear them apart if her anonymous friend doesn’t own up to his identity.

Fans of Ginny & Georgia will recognize one of the stars in this sci-fi thriller. Katie Douglas plays Vivien, one of a pair of students who realizes that something isn’t quite right about their highly regimented and monitored boarding school.

School of Rock

When Dewey Finn gets kicked out of his rock band, he pivots to substitute teaching at a stuffy private school of all places. However, he’s exactly what his students need to learn how to unwind, rock out, and embrace who they are both onstage and off.

Dive Club season 1

The group of teen divers a part of Dive Club are as close as can be. When one of their friends goes missing after a cyclone hits their coastal town, they’ll have to do everything in their power to find her no matter the danger.

The waters of first love rarely do run smooth but for John-John and Elisabeth, their love is tested by the circumstances of the different worlds they inhabit culturally, economically, and socially.

Confessions of an Invisible Girl

All Tetê wants is to fit in at her new school. She’s socially awkward but clever and is looking to be friends with her classmates but the resident queen bee plans on making that difficult.

Love 101 Season 2

Love 101 returns for another season as the students in this Turkish drama deal with the fall out of their teachers learning that they’d meddled in their love lives to keep one of them around.
