5 good movies on Netflix to watch this weekend: SAS: Red Notice and more
SAS: Red Notice is one of the good movies on Netflix to watch this weekend albeit under another name. Here are the top movies to check out.
There were a few great shows that you probably checked out throughout the week. If you haven’t caught up on Clickbait and Family Reunion just yet, now is a great time to do so. But what if you only have time for movies?
You’ll be forgiven if you overlooked one of the releases on Netflix this week. It was released earlier this year under another name than it is on Netflix. This happens now and then, although it’s not clear why it happened this time.
Here’s a look at what you need to watch during the last weekend of August—how did we get to the last weekend already?
5 must-watch movies on Netflix for the weekend
SAS: Rise of the Black Swan
Outlander‘s Sam Heughan and Batwoman‘s Ruby Rose star in SAS: Rise of the Black Swan. It was known as SAS: Red Notice when originally released in the UK and on DVD and Blu-ray in the U.S. The name change comes as it gets its SVOD debut.
Heughan plays Tom Buckingham, an SAS soldier who is on the Channel Tunnel train with his girlfriend. It’s supposed to be a romantic vacation, but a group of terrorists led by Rose’s character has other plans.
The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf
We know about Geralt, but what about witchers who came before him? That’s something we find out about in the animated prequel movie The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf. The story follows Vesemir, who is more than happy to slay monsters for coin.
What if some monsters are worth more than money? What if they’re worth fighting for the safety of the people? Vesemir comes up against a great enemy, and he may have bitten off far more than he can chew.
The Old Ways
If you prefer a horror movie, The Old Ways is one of the movies on Netflix to check out this weekend. A journalist is working on a story in Veracruz, but her work is going to be the last thing on her mind.
She’s supposed to be there to investigate a story about sorcery and healing, she’s kidnapped by a cult. This cult believes she’s the devil incarnate, and she’s about to be sacrificed. Uh oh!
The November Man
Those who love action movies and Pierce Brosnan will want to check out the 2014 movie The November Man now on Netflix. He plays Peter Devereaux, a CIA agent with an important task.
He needs to protect Alice, a witness who is certainly in need of a safety detail. She has secret information about a Russian political candidate, and you know what happens when you cross the Russians.
The Water Man
Finally, it’s an adventure story that also has a focus on family. A young boy wants to save his ailing mother, and he needs to find a person who possesses the power of immortality.
There’s a problem. This person is mythical, and the boy is traveling out on what could be a fools’ journey. At the same time, it’s through the remote Wild Horse forest, which could hold untold dangers.
