He’s All That, the Netflix original remake of the classic ’90s teen romcom She’s All That, landed on the platform on Friday, August 27. For those in the know, the film brought with it a cameo that fans of Keeping Up with the Kardashians will want to see as Kourtney Kardashian makes an appearance in the film.

Her presence in the movie is fitting considering He’s All That centers on a teen influencer by the name of Padgett Sawyer played by real life social media personality Addison Rae.

The premise of this remake is shaped around Padgett’s unfortunate viral break-up that changes her status as a popular, positive make-over maven into an overnight meme. In an effort to rectify her altered brand, Padgett takes on a bet from her friend, Alden, to transform a major loser into a prom king.

Who’s the nobody boy she has to transform? Cameron Kweller, a photographer with one sole friend and a younger sister who refuses to acknowledge him at school. He’s sarcastic, petulant, and above the popularity contest at their school which makes him the perfect candidate for operation makeover.

The character Kardashian plays is a part of Padgett’s journey throughout the film, in fact, she’s the reason the teen feels she has to resort to deceit in order to fix her life.

Spoilers ahead for He’s All That

What role does Kourtney Kardashian play in He’s All That?

Kardashian plays Jessica Miles Torres of Bunny Venom, the company that sponsors Padgett’s page. Jessica immediately terminates the company’s business partnership with the influencer after her viral break-up labels her Bubble Girl across the web.

Padgett is a beauty influencer and being connected to mucus, running make-up, and endless hashtags about a teen relationship gone wrong is not good for Bunny Venom’s brand. Ending their partnership, however, means that Padgett’s income is gone. She’d been using the money from the sponsorship to help her mom at home and build a college fund.

As He’s All That progresses, Jessica checks in on Padgett whenever she’s making a positive return on social media with her engagement enough to keep increasing her follower count and return her to the shiny, positive light she’d once been bathed in.

Padgett’s return as a Bunny Venom brand ambassador is contingent on her continued improvement. Whenever Jessica makes an appearance it’s to instill an encouraging word that’s meant less to boost Padgett’s confidence and more to keep her on track so she can get back to hawking Bunny Venom products.

Jessica believes in Padgett as much as she believes that their brands can be beneficial to each other. She’s not exactly a fairy godmother. Jessica’s more like a businesswoman in the influencer’s ear bedecked in athletic wear and popping up to remind the audience that Padgett has an actual stake in Cameron becoming prom king.
