This week, FanSided is taking us back to school with a lot of fun themes. Netflix Life is in charge of homeroom, and today, we are featuring the best fictional schools. You know the schools you watched in movies and tv series that you wished your own school would be like.

Most of the schools featured in fictional settings are very over the top, but that has never stopped us from wanting to attend. Netflix even has a great listing of movies with school themes to watch.

Below is a list of some great fictional schools that we would love to attend and why.

Best fictional schools

Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry

The name says it all. Why wouldn’t you want to attend this one? You’d learn all sorts of magic, play Quidditch and hang out with Harry, Ron and Hermonie. I always thought going away to a boarding school would be the best thing ever as a kid.

Bayside High

If you are not familiar, this school is from Saved by the Bell. This school is set in Los Angeles, so lots of sunshine. Plus, all the ’80s fashions, which doesn’t appeal to everyone, I guess. They never really went to class; sounds great. Who wouldn’t want to hang out at The Max?

Rydell High

This is the school from Grease. You aren’t anyone unless you belong to the T-Birds or the Pink Ladies at Rydell. And, every time you turn around, someone is breaking into song, kind of like my life! But, what a fun school to attend in the ’50s with bobby socks and poodle skirts, and the National Dance-Off competition came to their school. WOW!

Ridgemont High School

You can probably assume this is from Fast Times at Ridgemont High. This school had it all, stoners, jocks, losers and the local ticket broker who could get you tickets to any concert you wanted. For reference, this school is based on Clairemont High School, where the screenplay writer for this film, Cameron Crowe, went undercover to get his source material.

North Shore High School

Get in, losers, we’re going to North Shore High. A place where you always were pink on Wednesdays, vent your frustrations in the burn book, Tina Fey can be your ultra nerdy/cool teacher, and Regina George can victimize you on the regular. It would be so fetch!

Shermer High School

A place where it doesn’t matter if you are a brain, an athlete, a basket case, a princess or a criminal, you can still have a fun-filled day of detention in a freaking cool library with an Asst. Principal who raids Barry Manilow’s wardrobe.

McKinley High School

For anyone with musical ability, the school from Glee is heaven on earth. A school known for its athletics and cheer squad becomes well known for its resurrected glee club. Giving kids who normally wouldn’t have a voice a place to discover themselves. (on a personal note, this school is set in Lima, Ohio, and I am originally from there. True story).

Walkerville Elementary School

Who wouldn’t want a teacher like Ms. Frizzle? She takes you off to amazing places in that trippy school bus instead of sitting in a boring classroom all day. Learning science in this way would have allowed me actually to pay attention and get a higher grade.

Bronson Alcott High School

As if! I can’t imagine attending a school with students this wealthy, or rather their parents. I would totally be Tai. Even though they are rich, they are friendly and willing to give you a glamourous makeover.
