Lovers of period dramas, you got yet another TV series to binge-watch later this weekend and it’s sure to be one that you’re going to love a lot as it has many action-packed scenes, drama that will make anyone gasp, and, of course, a premise that is simply hard to ignore. That’s right, we’re talking about The Defeated.

This series was released in Germany in late 2020 and has finally made its way over to Netflix users in America last week. Though it has yet to be even a week since the show was released on the streaming platform, The Defeated managed to quickly climb to Netflix’s Top Ten trending list, which goes to show just how amazing this series truly is and is a great reason why you should watch as soon as possible. But before you do, we want to give you a quick rundown on what to expect from this drama series.

What is The Defeated about?

The Defeated takes place in the late 20th century, a time period riddled with war and strife globally especially in Berlin, Germany. In this torn-apart city, a cop is separated from his brother and is desperate to find him, but with tensions only growing stronger throughout the city, both himself and his brother may be running out of time.

The cast of this series features some familiar faces that you may be excited to see on your screens again with Friday Night Lights star Taylor Kitsch playing the lead role of Max McLaughlin, Michael C. Hall as Tom Franklin, Nina Hoss as Elsie Garten, Logan Marshall-Green as Moritz McLaughlin, and A Good Day to Die Hard actor Sebastian Koch playing the role of Dr. Werner ‘Engelmacher’ Gladow.
