We finally have some good news about the Never Have I Ever season 3 release date to share with fans!

Never Have I Ever season 2 premiered in July 2021, and Netflix announced shortly after that Never Have I Ever season 3 was in the works and on the way.

The teen comedy series from creators Mindy Kaling and Lang Fisher, who worked together on the underrated comedy series The Mindy Project, centers on an Indian-American teenager named Devi Vishwakumar, who’s a lot like a young Dr. Mindy Lahiri. (Right, Mindy fans?!)

In the second season, Devi grappled with the choice between Ben and Paxton, while also dealing with continued pressure from her mother and balancing her friendships through tough times as a teen. It’s all happening for Devi on Never Have I Ever, and we’re loving the laughs.

But when can fans expect to see Never Have I Ever back on their screens for season 3? Here’s everything we know so far about the season 3 release date, cast, and much more.

Never Have I Ever season 3 release date

Never Have I Ever season 3 is happening at Netflix, and it’s coming very soon! After confirming that season 3 would arrive in summer 2022, Netflix made good on that promise. On May 8, the streamer announced that season 3 would premiere on August 12.

Netflix renewed the Netflix original series about a month after the second season premiered on Netflix. Way in advance of the season 3 premiere, Netflix also announced that Never Have I Ever would return for a fourth season, which will also be its final season. Mindy Kaling explained the decision to end the teen comedy after four seasons.

Is Never Have I Ever season 3 done filming?

Filming commenced in November 2021 and wrapped in late February 2022, as announced by star Darren Barnet and co-creator Mindy Kaling. As we wait for the season 3 release in August 2022, the crew is already hard at work putting the pieces together on season 4.

Thankfully, production wasn’t delayed or pushed back, and things didn’t end up taking a little bit longer than usual as they have with other Netflix shows. One thing’s for sure, it will be one of the best Netflix shows coming in 2022.

John McEnroe served as the narrator of season 1 and returns to tell Devi’s story in season 2. McEnroe will also serve as the narrator in Never Have I Ever season 3.

Chrissy Teigen was expected to lend her voice to season 2 but bowed out and was ultimately replaced. Season 2 also welcomed new recurring cast members Common, Megan Suri and Utkarsh Ambudkar, who could very well return in season 3.

In January 2022, Netflix also announced that actor Anriduh Pisharody joins the season 3 cast in a recurring role as Des, who’s smart like Devi and attends a private school. We’ll have to wait and see how Des will stir things up for Devi.

Never Have I Ever season 3 synopsis

Without giving away spoilers from Never Have I Ever season 2, the next season would obviously pick up to answer the lingering questions left behind by the season finale.

Naturally, Devi will continue her journey throughout adolescence, waffling between Ben and Paxton. After having finally made a decision between the two, it will be interesting to see the fallout and what’s next for her new relationship.

Never Have I Ever season 3 trailer

Ahead of the highly anticipated new season’s release in August, Netflix released the Never Have I Ever season 3 trailer on Wednesday, July 27. The new clip is our first preview of the penultimate season and our first glimpse at Devi and Paxton as a couple!

In the trailer, “Daxton” makes their official debut as a couple at school, and everyone is in disbelief. It seems as though the chatter gets to Devi and she starts to believe she and Paxton don’t make sense together. Elsewhere, Anriduh Pisharody makes his debut as Des, and he makes all the jaws drop.

Along with the announcement of the Never Have I Ever season 3 release date, Netflix was kind enough to share a first look at the new episode in the form of photos. The pictures don’t give much away about the new season, but they certainly make us excited to check back in with Devi and her friends!
