Could Manifest season 4 renewal news from Netflix or NBC be coming on 828 day?

Ever since NBC canceled Manifest after three seasons, fans have rallied behind the beloved missing plane drama. Whether it’s giving the series new life on Netflix or trending the “Save Manifest” hashtag on Twitter, they have been fighting for Manifest season 4.

The first two seasons of Manifest began streaming on Netflix and immediately proved the cancellation was premature. From a ratings standpoint, the numbers Manifest pulled while staking its claim in the Netflix top 10 make an excellent case that the series shouldn’t have been grounded.

Thankfully, Netflix and NBC couldn’t ignore the fan demand and incredible streaming ratings and reentered talks to save the series, effectively igniting excitement for Manifest season 4. But ever since the brightest light of hope, no news about the show’s fate has been announced.

However, a new fan theory speculates that a decision on the future of Manifest has already been ironed out and will arrive on Aug. 28 or “828 day,” which alludes to Flight 828 and the show’s key number. Could good news be coming this month? Is it all really connected?

Will Manifest season 4 be announced on 828 day?

As of this writing, nothing has been confirmed by Netflix, NBC, Warner Bros. or Manifest creator Jeff Rake. The idea that renewal news could be announced on 828 day is pure speculation, but given Netflix’s past of playing up the “666” angle for Lucifer teases, anything is possible.

Not to mention, announcing good news for Manifesters on day that means a lot to them and the show would be the cherry on top of a bittersweet few months stuck in limbo. Let’s just say that we hope Manifest also beats its death date. It wasn’t supposed to be this soon.

On Aug. 12, Rake wrote in a tweet that he’s “a little preoccupied,” which further stoked fan excitement that something could soon be coming. Again, nothing has been confirmed and it’s all speculation, but Rake’s tease leads us to keep up the faith.

We’ll have to keep waiting for 828 day to roll around to see what’s in store for Manifest. Perhaps Netflix will drop season 3 that day, which would be in line with its release date in Canada. But we’re keeping our fingers crossed that Rake being preoccupied points to good news.
