We still have about a month before Lucifer season 6 drops on Sept. 10 on Netflix, but many of us are curious to know who’s returning and who’s leaving the fantasy superhero TV show.

Netflix original Lucifer has had its fair share of ups and downs throughout its run. With mixed reviews from critics and being canceled by FOX in 2018, this show has been on a rollercoaster. Fortunately, Netflix quickly picked up the series for its fourth season, and it has been smooth sailing since then with a complete series run of six seasons.

Spoilers ahead for Lucifer season 5!

Season 5 of Lucifer ended with Lucifer becoming God, his evil twin brother Michael losing his wings and getting a second chance at life, Maze and Eve reconnecting romantically and Detective Dan dying at the hands of Michael.

Dan’s death had to be the most shocking twist the Netflix TV show has had in all of its seasons! Many fans of the show didn’t care for his character but grew to love him as the show went on. So to lose him in such a way was by far the saddest moment in Lucifer.

So is there a chance of a resurrection for Dan, and is everyone from season 5 coming back for the final season 6?

Lucifer season 6 cast

Lucifer‘s main cast has been hanging in there with few added additions along the way. However, we can confirm that the individuals below will be returning for the final sixth season.

  • Tom Ellis as Lucifer/Michael
  • Lauren German as Chloe
  • Lesley-Ann Brandt as Maze
  • DB Woodside as Amenadiel
  • Rachael Harris as Dr. Linda Martin
  • Aimee Garcia as Ella Lopez
  • Scarlett Estevez as Trixie Espinoza
  • Inbar Lavi as Eve
  • Scott Porter as Carol Corbett
  • Kevin Alejandro as Dan

We’ll also see some new characters in season 6, including a character played by Trinkets and Deadpool star Brianna Hildebrand, according to EW.

Will Dan be in Lucifer season 6?

Many people were speculating if Dan (Kevin Alejandro) was coming back for season 6 since he technically died in season 5. Well, we have good news. According to an interview that Kevin did with ET back in May, he confirmed that he would be back for season 6 in some way.

"“I was on set a little bit in season 6, so he’s definitely coming back, just not the way everyone thinks he’s coming back.”"

We don’t care how Detective Dan comes back as long he makes an appearance in season 6!

Will God be in Lucifer season 6?

The actor who portrays the original God, Dennis Haysbert, has not been confirmed for season 6, making sense since his character retired and gave his position to Lucifer. It’s likely that he won’t be in the final sixth season since he wasn’t confirmed to return, and the show is already filmed. Who knows, he may make a surprise appearance. We won’t know until Lucifer season 6 drops on Netflix on Sept. 10.
