Stranger Things season 4 release date confirmed for 2022

Stranger Things season 4 is officially coming to Netflix in 2022. Netflix confirmed the news in a new teaser trailer released on Friday, Aug. 6, 2021.

The teaser trailer release comes on the heels of several days worth of Stranger Things news. Executive producer and director Shawn Levy has given Collider and several other outlets some good information and teases for Stranger Things season 4 while doing press for his movie, Free Guy, which stars Ryan Reynolds.

Obviously, this is not the news that Stranger Things fans want to hear. I think we all wanted to see Stranger Things season 4 on Netflix this year. Obviously, we’re not the only ones who wanted that. Netflix, the creative team, and the entire cast and crew surely wanted the season to be released in 2021.

The pandemic happened, delayed everything, and bumped the new season of the Netflix original series back until 2022. But, when will we see Stranger Things season 4 in 2022?

We know the release year for Stranger Things season 4 finally. Now, we just need to figure out what month and day the new season will be released.

As I’ve mentioned before, I’ve been hoping for a Valentine’s Day release date for Stranger Things season 4. That seems possible if production wraps in August 2021. There would be six months between the end of production and the release if it’s a Valentine’s Day season, so that’s a good sign.

In the show, there is so much love, romance, and attention given to the relationships of characters of all ages. I think a Valentine’s Day season could be incredible.

But, it’s probably more likely that Stranger Things season 4 arrives in March or April 2022 at this point. There’s more time to get the season done that way. On top of that, there are some rumors that Stranger Things season 4 takes place in April 1986, so fans are assuming that means that the new season could also be released in April 2022.

I like the sound of that for a couple of reasons. Netflix seems to like to release Stranger Things around the time that the new season is set, so I could see that happening. There are other reasons, but I don’t want to go into those right now.

For now, it’s time to come to terms with a long wait until the Stranger Things season 4 release date. At least, the end is finally in sight.
