Guillermo del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities release date

Award-winning filmmaker Guillermo del Toro is heading to Netflix this year with an exciting new anthology series. Cabinet of Curiosities is a horror show based on a short story of the same name, with different acclaimed directors such as Jennifer Kent (The Babadook), Panos Cosmatos (Mandy), and Catherine Hardwicke (Twilight) helming episodes.

Though not much was known about the plot of Cabinet of Curiosities with just the teaser trailer out, now we’ve got the full-length trailer and a synopsis that sheds some light on what to expect. This show sounds so creepy and we can’t wait to check it out! Plus, recognizable names will star in the show, including Eric Andre, Andrew Lincoln, Ben Barnes, F. Murray Abraham, Sofia Boutella, Rupert Grint, and more. Just from that cast alone, we’re sold!

Here’s the official synopsis for Cabinet of Curiosities via Netflix’s Media Center:

"In CABINET OF CURIOSITIES, acclaimed Academy Award-winning filmmaker and creator, executive producer and co-showrunner Guillermo del Toro has curated a collection of unprecedented and genre-defining stories meant to challenge our traditional notions of horror. From macabre to magical, gothic to grotesque or classically creepy, these eight equally sophisticated and sinister tales (including two original stories by del Toro) are brought to life by a team of writers and directors personally chosen by del Toro."

Netflix has confirmed that Cabinet of Curiosities will contain eight episodes, and they will drop two at a time over the course of four days. Expect new episodes to drop on October 25, October 26, October 27, and October 28. This will be the perfect watch for Halloween!
