During the 2022 SXSW event in March, The Umbrella Academy showrunner Steve Blackman announced that season 3 would be premiering on June 22, 2022! That’s a Wednesday, which is an unusual day of the week for a Netflix drama to come out. In any case, we’re so thrilled we have a date to look forward to. June cannot come soon enough!

Netflix already confirmed The Umbrella Academy season 3 would be coming in 2022.

On Aug. 28, 2021, production on season 3 wrapped. The show’s official Twitter account confirmed as much with a message from the cast.

The full cast from The Umbrella Academy season 2 is coming back for season 3: Elliot Page, Justin H. Min, Robert Sheehan, Emmy Raver-Lampman, David Castañeda, Tom Hopper, and Aiden Gallagher.

According to a report, Ritu Arya and Colm Feore will also be back for season 3.

Netflix also announced there are a bunch of new cast members joining The Umbrella Academy season 3, including Justin Cornwell, Justin H. Min (but playing a new character), Britne Oldford, Jake Epstein, Genesis Rodriguez, Cazzie David, and Existential Dread Inducing Psykronium Cube.

More recently, Netflix confirmed Euphoria star Javon Walton would appear in The Umbrella Academy season 3.

"After putting a stop to 1963’s doomsday, the Umbrella Academy return home to the present, convinced they prevented the initial apocalypse and fixed this godforsaken timeline once and for all. But after a brief moment of celebration, they realize things aren’t exactly (okay, not at all) how they left them. Enter the Sparrow Academy. Smart, stylish, and about as warm as a sea of icebergs, the Sparrows immediately clash with the Umbrellas in a violent face-off that turns out to be the least of everyone’s concerns. Navigating challenges, losses, and surprises of their own – and dealing with an unidentified destructive entity wreaking havoc in the Universe (something they may have caused) — now all they need to do is convince Dad’s new and possibly better family to help them put right what their arrival made wrong. Will they find a way back to their pre-apocalyptic lives? Or is this new world about to reveal more than just a hiccup in the timeline?"
