Netflix new releases on August 1

August is finally here! And with the weather getting hotter every day, what better way to spend the day than by watching Netflix in the air-conditioning? With Netflix bringing a ton of new movies and shows on the first day of August, you’ll have lots to watch.

The first two big things coming to Netflix on Sunday, Aug 1 are 30 Rock and Friday Night Lights. 30 Rock is coming back to Netflix after years of being away but Friday Night Lights will be on Netflix for the first time. It will be interesting to see how the numbers work out between Netflix and Peacock since the shows will be on both streaming services now.

Whether you’re rewatching your favorite seasons or checking out these shows for the first time, now is the perfect time to watch them.

Two Leonardo DiCaprio movies will also be on Netflix Sunday, Aug 1. Catch Me If You Can and Inception will both be available to stream. Catch Me If You Can also stars Tom Hanks, Christopher Walken, Martin Sheen, and Amy Adams and follows the life of a skilled forger and con man, Frank Abagnale, Jr.

New releases coming to Netflix on August 1

Inception is directed by Christopher Nolan and stars DiCaprio, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Elliot Page, Ken Watanabe, Tom Hardy, Cillian Murphy, Michael Caine, and Marion Cotillard. The movie follows a group of thieves who use dream technology to steal secrets.

Sunday, Aug 1 also brings the ultimate shark thriller, Deep Blue Sea. Is it better than Jaws? No, but that doesn’t make it any less awesome! Deep Blue Sea stars Thomas Jane, Saffron Burrows, Samuel L. Jackson, Jacqueline McKenzie, Michael Rapaport, Stellan Skarsgård, and LL Cool J.
