Netflix is rolling out some amazing new features for August. One great series that will be coming is NBC’s 30 Rock. The series had been airing on Hulu and Peacock but now finds its way to Netflix. All seven seasons will arrive on the streamer on August 1.

This satirical sitcom was created by Tina Fey and ran from 2006-2013 for seven seasons. Fey based the storyline on her time as head writer for Saturday Night Live.

Fey stars in the series with an all-star supporting cast consisting of Alec Baldwin, Tracy Morgan, Jane Krakowski, Jack McBrayer, Scott Adsit, Judah Friedlander, Katrina Bowden, Keith Powell, Lonny Ross, John Lutz, Kevin Brown, Grizz Chapman, and Maulik Pancholy. Over the many years that the series ran, other actors were also featured, including Dean Winter, Chris Parnell, Jason Sudeikis, Rachel Dratch, Sue Galloway, Cheyenne Jackson and James Mardsen.

What is 30 Rock on Netflix about?

The series is based on Fey’s time working at Saturday Night Live as the head writer. In the series, she plays Liz Lemon, the head writer for TGS (originally That Girlie Show). It is a behind-the-scenes look at what it takes to organize a fictional live sketch comedy show that airs on NBC, just like SNL. The title 30 Rock is short for 30 Rockefeller Plaza, which is the actual address for the NBC Studios, where TGS, just like SNL, is written, produced, and performed.

When the new network executive Jack Donaghy (Alex Baldwin) takes over, he forces Liz to hire the unstable and unpredictable Tracy Jordan (Tracy Morgan) to join the cast, and her best friend, the attention-seeking Jenna Maroney (Jane Krakowski. She also has to deal with the cheerful and people-pleasing Kenneth Parcell (Jack McBrayer).

It is an outrageously funny series that will keep you laughing at the antics of all of the writers and producers ofTGS and Liz’s attempt to organize the sketches and actors for the next episode.

The series has been compared to I Love Lucy and Seinfield as some of the best comedy television.

If you have never watched 30 Rock and enjoy a great comedy series, be sure to add this to your Netflix queue.
