Outer Banks season 2 is officially the Netflix show of the summer of 2021! The new season of the Netflix original series premiered on Friday, July 30, 2021. Within 24 hours, Outer Banks season 2 is now the No. 1 show on Netflix.

Fans all over the world are binge-watching the new season at a record pace. After finishing the season, the questions about Outer Banks season 3 start formulating. When is the Outer Banks season 3 release date? What’s going to happen in Outer Banks season 3? What’s next for the Pogues?

Unfortunately, Netflix has not renewed Outer Banks for season 3 yet, but come on, we know this show is not getting canceled. You can’t kill a Pogue!

Expected Outer Banks season 3 release date

The Outer Banks season 3 release date is a good place to start. Unfortunately, fans should prepare to wait quite a while for Outer Banks season 3 to hit Netflix. We usually have to wait at least 8-12 months for new seasons of Netflix shows, so get ready to re-watch Outer Banks season 2 a bunch while we wait for season 3.

The best-case scenario is that Outer Banks picks up a quick renewal from Netflix and moves into production later this summer or this fall. If that happens, there’s no reason we won’t see Outer Banks season 3 on Netflix in the summer of 2022.

If there is a delay between the renewal and the start of production, we could be in for a little longer wait for the new season.

For now, we’re expecting Outer Banks season 3 will be released in the summer of 2022, hopefully in June or July.

How will the Pogues get off the island in Outer Banks season 3?

This is the first predicament facing the Pogues in Outer Banks season 3. We know everyone is looking for them, and they’ve been reported missing.

My guess is that they’ll somehow attract the attention of a passing ship and then hitch a ride somewhere, possibly Barbados, Nassau, or back to the Outer Banks. They have to go back at some point, right? The show is called Outer Banks.

I’m hoping that Captain Terrance and Stubbs will get word of what happened with the Cross and and the Camerons and come looking for Cleo. That’s the best-case scenario! It would bring all these characters back together.

I think Captain Terrance and Stubbs and Cleo are the best chance the Pogues have at finding out where the Camerons are going and stealing back the gold and the Cross.

Could Limbrey save them? That would be quite the twist, wouldn’t it?
