How many seasons of Better Call Saul are on Netflix?
By Renee Hansen
The Breaking Bad spin-off prequel Better Call Saul is an anomaly in the world of prequels. The flagship series received critical acclaim and is thought of as one of the best TV series ever. That is a tough act to follow, but Better Call Saul has been able to do this with great success. Netflix has four seasons of the series available to stream.
Better Call Saul is currently in its fifth season, with a sixth and final season set to release in early 2022. The spin-off takes place in the early 2000s. It focuses on a public defender Jimmy McGill (Bob Odenkirk), who evolves into a greedy criminal defense attorney, Saul Goodman, who you know from the original series.
Another name that will sound familiar is Mike Ehrmantraut (Jonathan Banks), a man who aligns himself with a drug cartel to care for his daughter and granddaughter. This prequel shows his moral decline, which eventually leads him to cross paths with Goodman. Another familiar name in the series is Gus Fring (Giancarlo Esposito), the drug lord and entrepreneur.
Recently, Odenkirk’s name was in the news as he had a heart-related episode while filming. His son tweeted, “He’s going to be okay.” Production for the sixth season was about half-completed at the time of the incident. The focus will now be on Odenkirk’s recovery before they restart filming.
Is season 5 of Better Call Saul on Netflix?
Currently, Netflix has seasons 1-4 of Better Call Saul available. Every season but the final consists of 10 episodes each; the final will have 13. The seasons have progressively gotten better, and much is expected of the final season.
There has been no official announcement about the Netflix release of season 5. Generally, the current season would air on Netflix mere weeks ahead of the new season’s premiere on AMC. With filming on hold for the sixth season, it is hard to know exactly what the schedule will be.
The seasons have collectively received 39 Emmy nominations, with each season being nominated for Outstanding Drama Series. Odenkirk has been nominated for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama four times, and nominations for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series have gone to Banks four times and Esposito twice.

Best wishes to Bob Odenkirk for a speedy recovery.
