What is Resort to Love about?

Directed by Steven K. Tsuchida and written by Tabi McCartney and Dana Schmalenberg, Resort to Love is a Netflix original romantic comedy starring Christina Milian. Alicia Keys also serves as a producer for the film under her production label AK Worldwide alongside Jeremy Kipp Walker and  Maggie Malina.

Resort to Love follows Erica (Christina Milian), an aspiring pop star who is still recovering from a broken off engagement and career meltdown. Her boss finds her a gig as the entertainment for a wedding on a luxurious island resort only to find out that her ex-fiancée, Jason (Jay Pharoah), is the groom.

The two decide to keep their past relationship a secret from Jason’s new fiancée, Beverly (Christiani Pitts). Although from the trailer it seems as though the two might still be harboring feelings for one another as Erica explains, “We were together for four and a half years. Those feelings don’t just go away.”

However, the trailer also presents a potential new love interested for Erica as she becomes closer to Jason’s brother, Caleb (Sinqua Walls), who tells her that she should be with someone “who is sure.” Will Jason call off another wedding to reunite with Erica or will she be swept into a new, exciting romance with Caleb?

In classic rom-com fashion, it looks like Resort to Love will be full of hijinks, romantic tension and breathtaking scenic backdrops.
