Why is Francesca from Too Hot to Handle in Love is Blind: After the Altar?

When Netflix decided to join the reality TV wave and stream shows that still have everyone talking to this day, they were onto something. When Love is Blind dropped on the streamer on Feb. 13, 2020, it became an instant hit with viewers.

Love is Blind follows attractive singles as they go through a form of speed dating until they make a significant connection. The catch is that they don’t get to see each other until this connection is made. So how are they not seeing each other if they’re speed dating, you ask? Well, the singles are placed in individual pods where they can talk to each other but not physically see each other.

The purpose of the show is for the lucky singles to make meaningful connections by focusing on one’s personality instead of their looks. When a connection is made, the singles have the option to propose to each other in person. If one single rejects the other, they leave the show. However, if both singles decide to go through with the proposal, later on in the show, we get to see them getting to know each other as they prepare for their wedding.

Since Love is Blind did so well, Too Hot to Handle had a lot to prove, joining the reality TV lineup on Netflix. But Too Hot to Handle didn’t have much to worry about because it became the No.1 television program on Netflix surprisingly quick. I guess people couldn’t get enough of watching hot singles flirt and mingle. Add me to that list!

Obviously, both shows got renewed, and Too Hot to Handle season 2 has already dropped on the streamer. So now, we’re waiting for the new season of Love is Blind. Luckily, we got a second reunion special of the cast called Love is Blind: After the Altar and looking at the trailer, I see many familiar faces… and not all are from the Love is Blind cast.

I’m talking about Francesca from Too Hot to Handle season 1. Why does she make an appearance in this reunion special?

Why is Francesca from Too Hot to Handle in Love is Blind: After the Altar?

This is the question on everyone’s mind after the trailer dropped on July 26. Based on the trailer, it looks like Francesca is dating Damian Powers. However, the last time we checked, Damian was dating Giannina Gibelli. So, what’s really going on?

After searching high and low and watching the three-part reunion special released today, July 28, it’s still somewhat unclear what the relationship status is between Francesca and Damian. He claims that he and Francesca are just friends, but makes a sly comment when inviting Francesca to the reunion party, saying, “Yeah. Yeah, go as friends and see where the night goes.”

If they’re “just friends,” he wouldn’t make comments like that, insinuating that something else is going on. However, Francesca seems to tell the same story that they’re just friends when confronted by Giannina at the reunion party.

In August 2020, Powers spoke with Entertainment Tonight about his relationship with Francesca after they were spotted out at a restaurant together.

"“We all planned to leave the Eveleigh together in the same car. Francesca, Alex, Mitchell and Raiane all exited through a side entrance, while I exited through the main entrance of the Eveleigh,” he continues. “Upon exiting the Eveleigh, we were all greeted by paparazzi. Francesca grabbed on to me in an attempt to shield herself from the paparazzi as our entire group entered the car. Francesca and I are not dating or romantically involved but remain friends.”"

If they say they’re just friends, I guess we will have to take their word. So, it looks like Francesca is in Love is Blind: After the Altar to stir the pot and start drama. She definitely surprised us all! I wonder what reality show she’s going to be on next?
