Even though it’s been a while since Netflix debuted the hot new original drama series Sex/Life, we’re still talking and thinking about the show. Since its bow in June as a steamy summer kick-off, many fans haven’t been able to shake the guilty pleasure from their minds.

All of the chatter and headlines surrounding viral moments in the series (you know which viral moment we’re talking about) may have enticed viewers to watch Sex/Life, but there’s no doubt the series successfully pulled everyone in with its unfiltered look at love and lust.

While we keep our fingers crossed for an official season 2 renewal from Netflix, there’s no time like the present to chat about all things Sex/Life. Whether it’s making sense of that cliffhanger ending to the source material that inspired the story, it’s all here.

Below, we’re sharing all the spoilers you need to know before and after watching Sex/Life on Netflix, including the show’s ending, nudity, the book it’s based on and more.

Who does Billie end up with in Sex/Life?

If you’re still looking for the Sex/Life ending explained, let’s dive into Billie’s big decision. Throughout the first season, Billie seemed to have arrived at a place of peace with putting her past to bed and committing to her husband, Cooper. However, she ultimately decides to get back into bed with her past.

In the final moments of episode 8, Billie runs to ex-boyfriend Brad’s apartment and tells him she’s not leaving Cooper… but she also demands him to, in her own words, “f—” her. At first glance, it seems like Billie’s trying to have it all by keeping her marriage and sleeping with Brad.

Of course, Cooper’s fully aware of Billie’s whereabouts with Brad thanks to a location tracking app, which will certainly throw another wrench in Billie’s ever-complicated personal life. Not to mention, we don’t know if Brad goes along with her lustful declaration.

Sex/Life season 1 nudity

Perhaps one of the buzziest aspects of Sex/Life, aside from its love triangle, has to do with the sex and nudity featured throughout the eight episodes. But just how much nudity is there in the series? Well, there’s a fair amount, and you might have heard about a particular scene.

For those who have watched shows like Game of Thrones and other shows with frequent nudity, it’ll seem rather tame. Beyond brief instances of both male and female nudity, there’s one instance of male full-frontal nudity. It’s probably best to watch the NSFW show when the kids are asleep.

Is Sex/Life based on a book?

Like recent Netflix original titles like The Last Letter from Your Lover and the Fear Street trilogy, the drama series is also based on a book. 44 Chapters About 4 Men by BB Easton inspired the story of the Netflix original, though it’s not a direct adaptation.

The book doesn’t center on a woman named Billie, and it takes place in Atlanta rather than New York City. Clearly, the show made lots of changes, but the heart and themes of the story appear to be similar. For fans of the series, it’s definitely a summer must-read.

Is Sex/Life season 2 happening?

As of this writing, Netflix has not announced the fate of the series in either direction, meaning your new favorite guilty pleasure hasn’t been renewed or canceled. But considering the staying power the newcomer showed in the Top 10, even taking over the peak, it’s unlikely to be axed.

Although Netflix typically renews its hit shows within one month of their release, the streamer’s making fans wait a little longer. We’re expecting good news for the Sarah Shahi-Adam Demos series, and we’ll let you know as soon as Netflix makes an announcement.
