Chicago Med has made its landing on Netflix! The medical drama, which began its run in 2015, has been a fan favorite series on NBC for a long time. If you’re new to the show, here’s a rundown of what to expect.

The series, which has a total of 119 episodes so far and will premiere its seventh season in September 2021, is set at Gaffney Chicago Medical Center and focuses on the lives and work of the Emergency Deparment doctors and nurses.

It’s also a part of an interconnected universe produced by Dick Wolf known as the Chicago franchise. So expect to see characters crossing over from Chicago Fire and Chicago P.D. as well as cross-over episodes that were big events for the franchise.

Unfortunately, Chicago Med is the only show available from this universe on Netflix. We’ll keep you posted if that changes. As for how many seasons of the show are available to binge or savor, here’s what we know.

Chicago Med seasons on Netflix

The first five seasons of the show can be streamed now on the platform.

Season 1 will introduce new viewers to the emergency department at the medical center which has just had its grand opening.

Dr. Will Halstead (Nick Gehlfuss), a plastic surgeon turned attending physician at the ED, will find himself struggling in a work environment with another strong personality, Dr. Connor Rhodes (Colin Donnell). Rhodes is the new trauma fellow who has a particular way of doing things himself and has no problem voicing his opinion.

As they butt heads, the rest of the ED staff have a lot on their plates, too. Dr. Natalie Manning (Torrey DeVitto) is pregnant with her husband serving overseas. Sarah Reese (Rachel DiPillo) is adjusting to rotations as a medical student, but it’s taking a toll.

The situation level is stressful at Chicago Med and things are only going to heat up as the series progresses. Are you ready to embrace the drama?
