Saving people, hunting things, making fans cry, the family business. The very idea of Supernatural ending after season 15 broke the hearts of its fans.

Sam and Dean have certainly been through a lot over the past 14 seasons and people kept predicting what will be the fate of the beloved characters, will they continue fighting evil or will their road end in death? It doesn’t matter if the fans bet on a happy or a heartrending ending, either way the final episode made them arm with tissues and candies for the last time.

But as that’s not Supernatural addicts’ first time, they surely overcame it,as they did in the moments we tore from the funny fantasy series that made you cry. Well, dry your eyes as you read.

Saddest moments in Supernatural

1. Fearless And Strong Dean Needs Help (Season 1, Episode 9)

Always protective of his little brother, the brave hunter stole our hearts from the first season. Besides his hard life and constant struggle he never stopped laughing and cheering us up. But as good as he was in making sarcastic jokes, he also moved our hearts with his emotional side.

Almost everybody cried watching the episode “Home. “the scene where Dean left a message for his dead hoping that he’ll respond. The memories of his childhood, their house and the fear for the future turned Dean into a 7-year-old boy, who needed his dad by his side and us into a crybaby.

2. Time To Say Goodbye To Madison (Season 2, Episode 17)

Sam Winchester – the sensitive one. Sam had got over Jessica’s loss, and then he had to say goodbye to another girl who had made her way into his heart. Unfortunately, Madison was a werewolf and the boys found no cure. She realized that the only right decision would be her death and asked Sam to do the right thing, no matter what his heart wanted.

“Heart” – the name of the episode starts making sense once we have watched it. Killing Madison with his own hands broke not only Sam’s heart, but also Dean’s. I hope you had a tissue by your side while watching this emotional moment.

3. Sam’s First Death (Season 2, Episode 21)

The fans suffered with Dean after Sam’s first death in “All Hell Breaks Loose.” No one imagined Supernatural without a puppy-eyed hero and no one is ashamed for crying a river over his death. What we didn’t know was that there was a way to bring him back and not once.

4. Mary Wichester’s Confession (Season 4, Episode 3)

"“I wanna get out. This job, this life, I hate it. I want a family, I wanna be safe. You know the worst thing I can think of? The very worst thing? Is for my children to be raised into this like I was. No, I won’t let it happen.”"

Watching Dean hear these words from his mother and try to hide his fillings literally killed the fans. Apparently, “In The Beginning” was one of the memorable episodes full of emotional moments, and the scene of Dean begging her mother to stay away from Sam’s room on November 2nd, 1973, surely gave us goosebumps.

5. Dean Finally Talks About Hell (Season 4, Episode 10)

Dean’s death had not shocked the fans as much as his four-minute moving speech about the time spent in hell, those bloody 40 years filled with regret and sorrow. It’s true that sometimes Dean may act like a jerk and pretend to be cruel, but the episode “Heaven And Hell” shows us that he is just a soft-hearted guy who needs a shoulder to cry on. Just make sure you have someone by your side while watching this episode.

6. Dean Says Goodbye To Jo (Season 5, Episode 10)

Sure, there was something going on between Dean and Jo. Although the majority of fans were against this couple, Jo’s and her mother’s death left a mark on almost everyone.

It was hard to watch her die in her mother’s arms, but when Dean kissed her once on the forehead, once on the lips, and leaned their heads together for a moment, it was unable to hold back the tears any longer. Thanks “Abandon All Hope…” for making us cry so hard.

To relieve the pain, we must remember that Jo’s dream came true, she became a real hunter, a “hero” like her father and saved people’s lives.

7. Crowley’s Suicide and Castiel’s Death (Season 12, Episode 23)

“Bye boys!” simple words that had a whole story behind it, the story of the King of Hell, the sassy, but lovable demon. He was one of the greatest antagonists of the show, who became a fan-favorite character. He had a special bond with Dean, and in fact, they completed each other.

Moreover, he teamed up with Winchesters and of course Castiel in the episode “All Along The Watchtower” to fight Lucifer. Crowley put his pride above his life to take his personal revenge for all the humiliation he went through. He sacrificed himself to seal Lucifer in an alternate reality, which unfortunately did not work. In fact, Lucifer made his way back and managed to stab Castiel with the angel blade. After the long-lasting tense episode ended the fans realized that they have lost two great characters and there was nothing left but to mourn the loss.

8. Bobby Kills His Own Son (Season 14, Episode 5)

"“Hi, glad to meet you. Bobby Singer. Paranoid bastard.”"

That’s the way Bobby Singer used to introduce himself. This sarcastic, devoted hunter, who constantly questioned their masculinity, truly loved the whiniest, self-absorbed sons of b*tches like his own. He was always there to make sure that family would not end with blood.

But what about his own family? He lost his wife and suffered alone. In the episode “Nightmare Logic” it was revealed that alternate Bobby had also a son named Daniel who was killed by angels. He encountered a manifestation of his fears regarding Daniel’s fate. This episode shows that Daniel was the best thing in his life. But Bobby was forced to stab his son’s manifestation through the heart with the angel blade, causing it to explode into dust. Even though he knew that it was not the real Daniel, he could not help apologizing to his son, bringing tears to our eyes.

9. Dean refused to kill Jack (Season 14, Episode 20)

After Jack killed Mary Winchester it seemed that Dean would never forgive him. He was devastated and ready to kill Jack. However, when Dean approached Jack, pulled the gun on him, he couldn’t pull the trigger. Why? Because Jack became a part of the family, he was like Dean’s son. God’s wish to recreate the story of Abraham and Isaac banished as Dean threw the gun on the ground. At that very moment, we knew that Dean forgave Jack, but unfortunately, he lost him a few seconds later, when Chuck cruelly killed his grandson, tearing our hearts apart.

10. Sam Kills Rowena (Season 15, Episode 3)

After the ghosts were released by Chuck, the boys went straight to Rowena, the witch no one thought the Winchesters would ever trust. But as the series moved on we believed in Rowena’s unconditional love towards the boys, especially Sammy. That’s why she chose to be killed by Sam. With tears in his eyes, Sam hugged Rowena and stabbed her. When it seems like there are no tears left to cry, Supernatural finds a way to our hearts.

As you finish the article you might think how the final episode did not find its way to this list. Well, there is nothing here to say. We all saw it, we all cried. And not because it was very emotional, but because it was the END.
