What is Gunpowder Milkshake about?

Gunpowder Milkshake is Netflix’s latest action film and has an incredible, star-studded cast that includes Karen Gillan, Lena Headey, Angela Bassett, Carla Gugino, Freya Allen and Paul Giamatti. But what is the film about?

It all begins when Sam (played by Karen Gillan) is a small girl who is abandoned by her mother. Her mom, Scarlet, (played by Lena Headey) is a hitwoman who is forced to abandon her daughter and go on the run.

Fast forward a decade or two and Sam is a hitwoman in her own right. But she’s about to go on a mission that will turn her world upside down. The job goes wrong causing a young girl to be kidnapped. But when Sam saves her, she gets a whole lot of dangerous people coming after her and, as much as she might like to, she can’t take them on all on her own.

She has to get back in touch with her mom and her mother’s old friends/sidekicks (played by Carla Gugino, Angela Bassett and Michelle Yeoh) and hope that they’ll help her out. Those sidekicks all hide out in an old library and keep their weapons hidden away in classic novels. It really doesn’t get much cooler than that!

Gunpowder Milkshake synopsis

Together, they must keep the young girl safe and seek revenge on the people who are not only trying to kill Sam but who messed with Scarlet and her friends in the past. Nothing better than some bad*ss women getting revenge!

This means fighting bad guys in the library, a diner and in a bowling alley while wearing amazing clothes. If only real-life could be this well-choreographed and styled.

Based on the trailer alone, this is not a film you want to miss. It also looks like it’s going to have a killer (pun intended) soundtrack!
