The Netflix original series Cobra Kai has proved wildly popular with fans of the original films and has introduced the franchise to a whole new generation. Fans of this series will be happy to know that the three original Karate Kid movies will be available on Netflix starting on July 1, 2021.

In the mid-’80s, moviegoers were introduced to Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio), Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka), Mr. Miyagi (Pat Morita), John Keese (Martin Kove) and Ali Mills (Elizabeth Shue). The story follows Daniel and his rival Johnny as they train to compete against one another in the All-Valley Tournament, a karate competition.

All three of the original films are ’80s movie staples. The first film in the franchise goes down in pop culture history with classic lines like “Wax on. Wax Off” and “Sweep the leg.”

What time are The Karate Kid movies on Netflix?

On July 1 at 12:01 am PST / 3:01 a.m. EST., you will be able to binge the three movies that spawned The Karate Kid franchise. This time might not be convenient depending on your location, but the fact that they will be available is great news.

As mentioned, the first film ends with the All-Valley Tournament. The second film picks up immediately after the tournament. Six months later, Mr. Miyagi and Daniel travel to Miyagi’s home village on Okinawa Island, where his past catches up to him.

In the third film, we see the return of Miyagi and Daniel to find that his apartment building has been demolished and his mother has returned to New Jersey. The story also finds John Kreese in a bad state after his actions at the All-Valley Tournament. He seeks out an old friend who vows to reestablish the Cobra Kai dojo and get revenge on Daniel and Miyagi.

The franchise saw many types of memorabilia in the 80s, including action figures, headbands, posters and shirts. In 2015, Funko designed two Pops! of Daniel and one each of Johnny and Miyagi.
