Best horror movies on Netflix to watch this summer
By Renee Hansen
If the horror genre is your game, Netflix has an amazing list of choices for you. The list of titles ranges from phycological to supernatural to indie to mind-game horror movies. Netflix has stiff competition in the genre from other horror-specific streamers like Shudder, but it does a great job of keeping its horror movies fresh.
The streamer also has a great list of Netflix original horrors. Titles like His House,1922, Gerald’s Game and Cargo are originals of the streamer and have received great reviews. Don’t forget the original horror series, including Stranger Things and Black Summer.
Do a quick search, and I think you will be surprised at the number of horror titles available on the streamer.

Insidious
James Wan is a director known for his horror creations, including the Insidious series of films. Insidious is the first released film of the series but third in chronology.
This supernatural horror film follows a family as they move into a new home, and their son enters into a comatose state. After months of treatment for the boy with no results, they bring him home, and disturbing events start to occur in the home. Feeling the house is haunted, they move, only to find that the activity continues in the new home.
Through a psychic, they discover their son has the ability to astral travel, a type of out-of-body experience. This time he has traveled to The Further, and demons can now enter the physical world through him.
This film is a good scare with an interesting story and backstory that links to the other films in the series.
