From the moment Manifest dropped on Netflix, fans have been hoping the streaming service could become the saving grace they’ve been hoping for. Unfortunately, it looks like Manifest season 4 will not be happening at Netflix after all, despite several positive signs which had fans feeling optimistic that Netflix was about to save the day.

According to a new report from Deadline, Netflix has decided to pass on Manifest and will not be stepping in to save the series following its cancellation at NBC. As sources report, the decision on Netflix’s part comes after lengthy conversations and deliberations which had been unfolding across several days following the show’s initial cancellation.

After debuting on Netflix, Manifest immediately broke into the Top 10 and has remained a strong performer on the streaming service in holding the top spot for several consecutive days. On the heels of the show’s strong showing in the Top 10, word broke that Netflix was in serious conversation with Warner Bros. Television to save the show and it was looking like the odds of the show continuing as a Netflix Original were quite strong.

Ultimately, after weighing its options, Netflix decided to pass on the show.

Why didn’t Netflix save Manifest?

It is unclear why Netflix ultimately passed on Manifest but it is expected that cost likely played into the decision as did the complicated digital rights to the series. It also has been revealed that the cast options had expired, which likely played into the streaming service’s decision not to save Manifest.

Is Manifest season 4 happening?

Unfortunately, now that Netflix has officially passed on Manifest the odds of Manifest season 4 happening are not looking good. In fact, it appears that Warner Bros. Television has officially thrown in the towel and has concluded its efforts to find Manifest a new home following its cancellation at NBC.

As disheartening as it might be for fans, the unfortunate news is that Netflix seemed to have been Warner Bros. Television’s hail mary attempt to save the show. Now that Netflix has passed on the series and decided not to pick up Manifest season 4, it appears the show will join an ever-growing list of series to end without resolution and seen their run cut short.
