Netflix cancels Grand Army after one season

Grand Army premiered on Netflix in the fall of 2020. Fans have been waiting to find out any news about Grandy Army season 2, if it was happening, and the release date.

We have a new update on Grandy Army season 2, and it’s not a good one for fans of the Netflix original series.

Is Grand Army canceled?

Netflix canceled Grand Army after one season, according to a report from Variety.

Unfortunately for fans of the Netflix original series, there will be no Grand Army season 2 on Netflix. And because Netflix shows rarely get saved by other networks, this is the end of the line for the teen drama series.

Overall, it’s not totally surprising that Grand Army was canceled at Netflix. Despite decent reviews and scores from viewers and critics, Grand Army didn’t really generate much buzz after its release in the fall of 2020. I’m assuming that, with the lack of buzz, the viewership was not at the level Netflix needs it to be to order a second season.

Normally, Netflix makes the decision to renew a series within the first few months after the release date. Obviously, we didn’t see that with Grand Army and renewal or cancellation in the first few months. We had to wait for much longer than that to find out about the show’s fate. It was more like eight months of waiting.

When we have to wait that long for any show, it’s never good. I know there are a few shows waiting on renewals, including Cursed, Julie and the Phantoms, Dash and Lily, and a few others. Hopefully, they all get renewed, but it’s not looking great right now.
