Is SpongeBob SquarePants on Netflix?

SpongeBob SquarePants is an animation icon, so no wonder why many Netflix subscribers are eager to know if the utterly hilarious cartoon is available in the streaming powerhouse’s extensive library.

The adventures of the title character and his undersea friends have been entertaining home audiences for years and delivered huge ratings on Nickelodeon. Since it began back on July 17, 1999, the show has evolved into a full-blown franchise, bringing in more than $13 billion in merchandise alone.

SpongeBob SquarePants consisted of 13 glorious seasons and 267 episodes of wacky underwater hijinks and gut-busting misadventures involving the titular wide-eyed fast-food worker and his buddies Patrick, Gary, Sandy, Squidward, and the rest of the show’s loveable characters. During its tenure, the animated series won eight Golden Reel Awards, four Emmys, 18 Kids Choice Awards, two BAFTA Children’s Awards, and six Annie Awards.

Several spinoffs, including Kamp Koral: Spongebob’s Under Years, The Patrick Star Show, and a yet-to-be-titled project revolving around the character Squidward are either airing or on the way. It’s no wonder why fans would want to relive all of their favorite moments from the cartoon with their subscription to Netflix.

Is SpongeBob SquarePants available on Netflix?

Netflix subscribers won’t be venturing to Bikini Bottom for a delicious Krabby Patty anytime soon. The animated series is not available on the streaming service.

While this is obviously not ideal news, there’s a plethora of other family-friendly cartoons available on Netflix. Cocomelon, Fast and Furious Spy Racers, and Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous are just some of the other options that SpongeBob fans can add to their watch list instead and enjoy.

The first six seasons of SpongeBob SquarePants are currently available on Amazon Prime Video for Prime members, and all the seasons are available on Paramount+ along with the new spinoff series Kamp Koral: SpongeBob Under Years.
