Sweet Tooth age rating: Is the Netflix show appropriate for kids?

The Netflix original series Sweet Tooth premiered earlier this week, and its first season has already gone on to impress many people.
Commended for its intriguing story, intricate storytelling and impeccable character designs, this original series has quickly risen to popularity, currently sitting rather comfortably at number one on Netflix’s top 10 trending list.
Rotten Tomatoes has awarded the show’s first season a critic score of 98% and an audience score of 91%, making this series an amazing watch for everyone who lays eyes on this masterpiece.

Sweet Tooth age rating
According to Netflix, the original series age rating currently stands at a TV-14 meaning that teens may be able to watch the series by themselves, but kids under the age of 14 may need some parental guidance.
The scenes depicted in Sweet Tooth consist of mildly hazardous situations, emotional turmoil and some physical roughness, most of which are alluded to in the run-down of the show. Here is the official synopsis for the show via Netflix:
"On a perilous adventure across a post-apocalyptic world, a loveable boy who’s half-human and half-deer searches for a new beginning with a gruff protector."
