Outer Banks star Madelyn Cline joins all-star Knives Out 2 cast

Another day, another major casting announcement for Knives Out 2, and we know Outer Banks fans are really going to like this one. Outer Banks breakout star Madelyn Cline has boarded Netflix’s upcoming sequel of the hit mystery film alongside Daniel Craig.

According to Deadline, Madelyn Cline will appear in an as yet unspecified role in Knives Out 2, which marks her first major studio film after her breakthrough in the slam-dunk Netflix teen drama Outer Banks. The MTV Movie & TV Award winner is clearly making quite the splash in both movies and TV.

Knives Out 2 was announced not long after Knives Out became a sleeper hit on the big screen in fall 2019, though the sequel (and its sequel) landed at Netflix in a $400 million deal. Rian Johnson has assembled quite the formidable cast for the second installment, now including mega Netflix star Madelyn Cline.

The Outer Banks star is in incredible company in the Knives Out sequel’s cast, which also sees Craig reprising his role as private detective Benoit Blanc and the likes of Kathryn Hahn, Leslie Odom Jr. and many more movie stars rounding out the ensemble.

Who does Madelyn Cline play in Knives Out 2?

Currently, details surrounding the plot and characters of the sequel are being kept under wraps, but what else would you expect from a whodunit? Although it’s unclear who Cline will play in the film and how big of a role she will have, her star power will undoubtedly be felt.

Knives Out 2′s cast also features WandaVision favorite Hahn, Odom Jr., Kate Hudson, Dave Bautista, Janelle Monáe and Edward Norton. It’s hard to top the ensemble cast of the original, but Johnson has lined up an excellent group of top-notch performers.

Production on Knives Out 2 is expected to commence in late June 2021 in Greece for a release as a major tentpole on Netflix sometime in 2022. Of course, Cline will next be seen in Outer Banks season 2, which is primed to debut on Netflix in summer 2021 and further its popularity.
