Summer is upon us, Netflix Lifers! The sun is hot, and it’s blazing more often than not as we melt out of spring and into the scorching heat. But this weather shake-up also brings the prospect of some summer fun and with it a desire to watch movies like Carnaval, which capture the spirit of the season.

Let it be known far and wide that some of Netflix‘s best offerings aren’t in English nor are they set in the U.S. More than one international show or movie has popped on Netflix US, and it looks like Carnaval could be primed to do the same.

The Brazilian comedy premiered on the streamer on June 2, and it’s starting to catch fire as audiences vibe with this fun girls trip set in Salvador during Carnaval.

Here’s what we know about the film.

Carnaval synopsis

When an influencer catches her boyfriend in flagrante delicto with another woman, their relationship and trip to Aspen goes up in smoke. But rather than wallow over the break-up and his betrayal, she takes her three best friends on an all-expenses-paid trip to Salvador!

They plan to let loose during Carnaval, drinking, partying, and hooking up to their heart’s content. Beautiful people are around every corner, swimming in pools, dancing on stage, even singing to crowds. It’s a vacation dream for these ladies.

Love and connection, however, hasn’t completely left the influencer’s mind. She may just find what’s she’s truly looking for in a man whose attention is on her and no one else. Life is, after all, more than likes, shares, and followers. Sometimes the best stories are the ones that are just for yourself and the people closest to you.
