From the moment Ragnarok season 2 hit Netflix at the end of May 2021 fans around the world have been eagerly anticipating the show’s return. The good news is that Ragnarok season 3 is not only coming to Netlfix in 2023, but it’s coming out in August!

After more than two years, Ragnarok season 3 is finally making its way to Netflix with a brand new season coming fans’ way this summer in what promises to be an epic final season of the beloved series!

As we gear up for the final episodes of the show, we’ve rounded up everything you need to know about the Ragnarok season 3 release date on Netflix, including information on the show’s release date, episode count, cast, synopsis, trailer, and more!

How many seasons of Ragnarok are there?

Currently, there are two seasons of Ragnarok available to stream on Netflix. The first season premiered in January 2020, season 2 premiered in May 2021, and season 3 will release in August 2023. Sadly, the show’s third season will be the final season in the series, meaning that the show will have a total of three seasons and 18 episodes as each season consists of six episodes.

Ragnarok season 3 release date

The wait for new episodes of Ragnarok finally ends on Aug. 24, 2023, with the release of the show’s third and final season on Netflix globally. More than two years have passed since season 2 dropped on May 27, 2021, so it might be time for a binge-watch in the weeks leading up to the show’s return. 

The series is among a wave of exciting shows coming to Netflix in August, including The Witcher and One Piece. 

How many episodes is Ragnarok season 3?

Like the first two seasons of Ragnarok, season 3 will consist of six episodes total. While it’s unclear how long the episodes in the final season will be, it’s expected they’ll be the same average length as episodes from seasons 1 and 2. This means we should expect the final episodes to be about 45-50 minutes. Additionally, Netflix has confirmed the episode titles for all season 3 episodes which you can check out below:

Ragnarok season 3 synopsis

Eager to know what awaits us in Ragnarok season 3? Well, you’re in luck as Netflix has released a sizable synopsis for the final season which is full of spoilers about what’s to come in season 3! Can’t wait for the episodes to arrive? Here is how Netflix describes season 3:

"What do you do when you’re an 18-year-old high school senior in a small town in Norway, and you have realized that you’re the chosen one whose task it is to stand up to an ancient and extremely powerful enemy that keeps not just a whole town but an entire country in an iron grip?The protagonist Magne must attempt to fight this enemy, but how do you keep your cool and make the right choices when you’re a teenager in love, suddenly armed with the world’s mightiest weapon, while at the same time having to figure out who you are? Magne has to weigh every step on his journey from child to adult. As well as navigate the many relations he has finally managed to forge in the small town. But who is — when it all comes down to it — his friend? And who is his enemy?"

Is there a Ragnarok season 3 trailer?

Despite the show’s return in August, Netflix has not shared the trailer for Ragnarok season 3 yet. We should see the trailer a few weeks before the season premieres as Netflix typically releases a trailer for shows within a month of their return, if not sooner.
