Spider-Man: Riverdale star Lili Reinhart suits up as Spider-Gwen in stunning image

Fans are eager to see Spider-Gwen join the Marvel Cinematic Universe with Riverdale‘s Lili Reinhart being a favorite among fans and it’s easy to see why. 

While Marvel has, as expected, been tight-lipped when it comes to information about the next film in its Tom Holland-led Spider-Man franchise, suspicion continues to grow amongst fans as to whether the film will introduce the Spider-Verse.

For months, rumors have circulated Spider-Man: No Way Home could see the returns of former Spider-Man actors Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire and several villains from the previous Spider-Man films have been confirmed including Jamie Foxx’s Electro (The Amazing Spider-Man 2) and Alfred Molina’s Doctor Octopus (Spider-Man 2).

There is also hope the film could introduce audiences to the MCU versions of other iconic characters such as Miles Morales and Spider-Gwen.

Fans seem to have a lot of theories and wishes for who should play the characters. The latest among them being Riverdale actress Lili Reinhart in the role of Spider-Gwen.

What Lili Reinhart could look like as Spider-Gwen in Spider-Man: No Way Home

Although nothing official has been announced by Marvel, one artist’s incredible fan art has given us our first glimpse at what Reinhart could look like in the role if given the chance.

In the stunning concept art by artist Carpaa2011, Reinhart dons Spider-Gwen’s iconic black, white, purple, and neon-blue suit with the suit’s distinct hooded masked pulled back yet still visible as it rests against her back.

While Spider-Gwen is relatively new to the Marvel Comics world, having first debuted in 2014, the character has quickly become a favorite among fans. In the comics, Spider-Gwen is the alias Earth-65’s Gwen Stacy takes up after she’s bitten by a radioactive spider which gifts her with special abilities instead of the Earth’s Peter Parker.

With the idea of the Spider-Verse making its debut in Spider-Man: No Way Home, fans are eager to see Spider-Gwen make her debut and we have to admit Reinhart would be a perfect choice for the role. As we’ve seen on Riverdale, Reinhart can beautifully play complicated and layered characters and there’s no denying she’d bring so much to the character if given the chance!
