A new superhero drama is flying onto Netflix! The original series Jupiter’s Legacy, based on the comic series by Mark Millar, tells the generational story of a nation’s heroes from their origin in the ’30s over the 90 years they’ve spent protecting the world.

As with all things, the older heroes’ time in the sun is beginning to wane. They’ve served their country diligently, but it’s time to pass the torch to their children. Their problem, however, is that the world they’re entrusting their kids to protect has changed in the near-century they’ve been heroes.

There’s also the issue of the mantle they’ve chosen not being what some of the children want to carry on. A parents’ legacy is often their children—not only the people they’ve helped shape them into but also the choices they make. When those choices brush up against expectations, it’s not uncommon for parents and children to clash.

Jupiter’s Legacy explores this dynamic with Josh Duhamel leading this ensemble cast of super-powered individuals whose home lives are plagued by some of the normal issues non-powered human beings have to deal with. The major difference, of course, being that they might get hashed out in the middle of a lightning fight or with a car being launched into the air.

What time can you watch Jupiter’s Legacy on Netflix?

Jupiter’s Legacy will land on Netflix this upcoming Friday, May 7 at 12:01 AM PST.

The show is set for an eight-episode run. It hasn’t been billed as a limited series, so the possibility of a season 2 could be in the cards if the show is successful.

Jupiter’s Legacy is one of several projects from Millarworld in the works at Netflix. The streaming service acquired Millar’s comic book publishing company in 2017. Fans of the author’s work can expect more films and series developed from his source material on Netflix in the coming years.
